01 — Start to finish

Six steps. Two tracks.

Find the track that is yours and read down it. Either way it starts the same: get in touch, and we’ll guide you through the options.

A photograph taken on your phone is fine, and there is no need to move the piece to take it.

  1. Step 1 of 6. Get in touch

    Reupholstering yours
A photo of the piece from the front, and a close-up of whatever bothers you. Phone, email or the quote form.
    A new headboard or bed
A photo of the wall it goes on, your mattress size, and the look you are after.
  2. Step 2 of 6. Design, materials, pricing

    Reupholstering yours
We’ll guide you through what the piece needs, the cloth, and the price. A buttoned back forgives a crease.
    A new headboard or bed
We’ll guide you through shape, face, size and cloth. A plain cloth lets the shape lead.
  3. Step 3 of 6. A quote and a timeframe

    Reupholstering yours
Once the design is confirmed, you get a quote and a timeframe for completion.

The same. A drawing from the studio is a good place to start from.
  4. Step 4 of 6. Made to order

    Reupholstering yours
Your piece is reupholstered in the cloth you chose.
    A new headboard or bed
Your headboard or bed is made to your size, in your cloth.
  5. Step 5 of 6. Delivery

    Reupholstering yours
We deliver across New Zealand. The charge depends on your address, and it is quoted to you.
    A new headboard or bed
As each order is unique, shipping timeframes and charges vary based on your location and the nature of the product.
  6. Step 6 of 6. Warranty and care

    Reupholstering yours
For care, we recommend: using a soft cloth to clean; avoiding harsh chemicals; keeping out of direct sunlight or extreme humidity.

We offer a 1-Year Warranty from the date of delivery covering defects in materials and craftsmanship under normal household use.

02 — Before it is made

Confirmed first. Then made.

Once the design is confirmed, we’ll provide a quote and timeframe for completion. Every piece is made to order, so it is worth settling these first.

Worth settling before it’s made

  1. The design: shape, size, and any detail like buttons or flutes.
  2. The cloth, and which way a pattern or a pile runs.
  3. The quote, and the timeframe for completion.
  4. Delivery to your address, and what it costs.
  5. The warranty: 1 year from the date of delivery.

03 — Honest advice

Three things not to do.

Three ways people make the job harder before we ever see it. All three are free to avoid.

  • Do not strip or clean it first.

What is on the surface shows what the piece needs. Stripped, it is harder to price.

  • Do not buy the cloth yet.

A buttoned back swallows far more than a flat one, and a large pattern repeat more again.

  • Do not bin the part that fell off.

A broken castor or a loose button beats the nearest thing that can be matched.

Start with a photo. We will do the rest.

Not sure which track you are on? That is ours to work out, not yours. Send it anyway.
